Know how to start your own business? Entrepreneurship can help.

by Chelsea Marsh
March 14, 2008

An Entrepreneur is a person who organizes and manages any enterprise, esp. a business, usually with considerable initiative and risk. They are also people who have a dream and work to live that dream. Entrepreneurs are people who will fight through the obstacles to stop dreaming and actually live their dream.

Just recently, a number of students traveled to WNCC in Scottsbluff to attend an entrepreneurship tour.  In this tour, students from CHS listened to  speakers who shared schools how they achieved their dream.

Mrs. Rogers mentioned that she has always thought that if one puts their mind to something then it can be done, but the trip reminded her that to be successful in a business you have to network. "My view is always to interact with others and get ideas from them because it's other people who help others become successful," said Rogers.

Andrea Franklin mentioned that some parts of the tour were interesting and some were not. Attending this tour has not changed her views on life in her opinion.
"The bus ride was fun because Jens got yelled at," said Lindsey Wrage. "I think the tour was very informational and helpful to young entrepreneurs." Wrage also mentioned that attending this tour has helped her see the difficulties in owning her own business.

Garrett Frederick said the trip provided good information pertaining to opening a new business. "It showed me the good things and bad things that can happen when opening a business," said Frederick.

Jens Johnson gave the trip a "2 thumbs up." "The trip gave me valuable insight to the maze that is entrepreneurship," says Johnson, "The tour opened my eyes to the hardships and rewards to opening my own business."

With this knowledge, students at CHS may now begin their journey down the long road to consider opening their own business.
