Dr. Seuss characters visit Kenwood.

March 17, 2009

The Cat in the Hat and Thing 1, characters from Dr. Seuss’ books, visited Kenwood Elementary on Monday, March 2. Thing 1, aka Mrs. Michelle Heinen, gave each student in Grades K-4 a free book to recognize the fact that the day was designated as “Read Across America.” In addition to the free book, Kenwood students celebrated what would have been Dr. Seuss’ 105th birthday by enjoying “The Foot Book” read by the Cat in the Hat, aka Ms. Kristin Moore. At the conclusion of the book, the students told about other Dr. Seuss books that they had either read or that he had written. The students enjoyed a cupcake in their classrooms at the end of the celebration.
