7th & 8th Grade Scholastic

by Barb Waugh

Who is so unfortunate that he wrote a series of books about unfortunate events?  Who lives at Number 10 Downing Street?  Can you name the parts of a cell?  These types of questions and more are could be asked of the 7th and 8th Grade Scholastic Team members.  In April, the students will travel to Gering to play face to face games against other panhandle schools.  The teams consist of 15 players.  In each game twelve players and a captain will participate.  The students are asked a variety of questions from sports, math, reading, literature, current events, logic, science, and history.  The games consist of four rounds of eight questions.  At the conclusion of the contest, the two teams which have accumulated the most points will advance to the Championship Game.  Representing the rural schools on the Scholastic Team is Brody Gramberg from Prairie Home School.
