This week we have been using Padlet to create Thanksgiving boards. The students are abel to collaborate and see their classmates working in real time as they type in what they are thankful for. The upper elementary students add embedded photos from Google to enhance their posts and were able to view all their classmates posts as well.
Due to the winter weather advisory or for tonight and tomorrow, the Chadron Middle School Wrestling Invitational has ben cancelled and will not be rescheduled.
We would like to thank Exxon Mobil Educational Alliance program for the $500 grant awarded to Chadron Intermediate School. Exxon Mobil along with the Moyle Petroleum Company and the Chadron Common Cents Convenience Store provided the opportunity for our school to apply for the grant made possible through funding from the Exxon Mobil Corporation. Chadron Intermediate School will be using the grant money to support our Math and Science curriculum.
CIS students were honored to be able to attend the Veteran's Day Program with the Crest View Healthcare Community. June Ballard gave the invocation with the Chadron Veterans Honor Guard presiding. Certificates were distributed to the residence followed by a 21 gun salute by the Honor Guard. Joe Rischling played Taps, to accompany the lowering of the flag.
Chadron Intermediate School participated in “Coins for Children” - World Hunger Relief - sponsored by Pizza Hut.
The Intermediate School collected $382.05.
The Winners of the Pizza Party was Mrs. Hirning’s 3rd grade class with $112.66.
2nd Place was Mrs. Hoffman’s class was 2nd with $76.68.
3rd Place was Mrs. Dickey's class with $72.54
4th Place was Mrs. Piercy's class with $71.22

Recycle Bowl Competition sponsored by Keep Chadron Beautiful. Oct. 20-Nov. 15 Chadron Public Schools will participate in the Recycle Bowl. Please send your recyclables to school. The following items can be sent to school: Plastic #1 & #2, Aluminum Cans, Corrugated Cardboard, White paper, envelopes, notebook paper, Newspapers & Phonebooks, Printer Cartridges, cell phones, rechargeable batteries, Plastic shopping bags.
Governor Heineman signed a proclamation yesterday declaring the week of OCTOBER 13-17 as LIGHTS ON AFTER SCHOOL (LOAS) Week in Nebraska. The proclamation is attached. It has also been uploaded to the LOAS section of our website (http://www.beyondschoolbells.org/lightsonafterschool/loasproc.html ).
