2014 Bus Evacuation Drill

Each year we practice evacuating the bus!
Our highly trained bus drivers do a great job talking "Safety" to our students.

2014 high school graduates scored higher

Nebraska’s 2014 high school graduates scored higher than their peers nationally and also outscored other graduates across the country in English, reading, mathematics and science scores that measure college readiness.
Nebraska’s average ACT composite score of 21.7 is higher than the national average of 21.0. The highest possible ACT score is 36. For more information, go to

After School Program (CIA) August Calendar
The Chadron Intermediate School After School Program (CIA) got off to a great start on Tuesday with over  60 kids showing up for the event.  Out of 144 student, 76% of them are signed up.  We would like to thank our new CIA Agents (Jordan, Lissa, and Staci) for helping the first night get off to such a great start.  


To be removed from all classes that you're signed up for, you reply ' stop ' to any Remind phone number.To be removed from only one class, you reply "unsubscribe @code" to the Remind phone number. Dawes County Historical School
The Dawes County Museum, ESU13 and northern panhandle schools partnered again this year to bring the Historical School to third and fourth graders. Vicki Kotschwar is the school Marm in the 1880's setting.  
Students practice spelling, orthography (Handwriting), math and reading.  They also enjoy a lunch in a pail and get to dress the part if they wish.

Last Day of School Moved to May 19!

Parents- Our last day of school for the entire district has been moved to the 19th of May with dismissal at  11:15 for CIS.  
Due to fewer snow-days than scheduled, this is one day earlier than planned.  We will send out the report cards on the Friday before.   The School picnic will be held at the CHS Practice Field about 12:00-get there early.
